Description

Medic-AREA is a system of help to the medical adherence and personal quantification (Quantified Self). The medical adherence refers to the patient’s participation in complying with a therapeutic plan previously agreed upon with the physician. Medic AREA helps improve this adherence by providing the patient with a tool to set reminders and keep track of their treatments.

In addition, it offers the possibility for a caregiver to monitor the patient’s adherence to treatments in real time, warning the patient, for example, if the patient has missed a medication.

Among its innovative aspects and advantages stand out:

• Privacy. The information about the patient (medicines taken, delay in taking them, etc.) is not compromised as the data transmitted from the patient’s mobile phone to the server is encrypted and contains encrypted information. The server stores information that can only be correctly interpreted by the caregiver, who has previously synchronized with the patient and knows the data about his treatments.
• Help in the follow-up of treatments of several patients. Medic-AREA App can include information related to several patients, both local and remote (in care mode). Each patient can have several medications and create reminders about each of them according to their own routines (for example: breakfast, lunch, dinner). The application warns of each reminder and records the note that has been marked on it (Do not take, Take, Delay).
• Personal Quantification. The patient can also record other notes at any time regarding his health and physical condition (Headache, Dizziness, Heartbeat, Distance traveled).
• Open Data. With the patient’s authorization on the server, data on medication intake and other records are processed to provide results on treatment and medication adherence as well as their outcomes.

Medic-AREA is directed to those people who follow some type of medical treatment, people in charge of taking care of patients and to make a pursuit of their treatments in addition to providing data analysis for the obtaining of indicators.

The funding for this system is focused on seeking collaborations for the development of new data analysis services as well as being able to have an advertising distribution channel.
