Project Description

MycoGalicia follows a strategy based on the implementation of a sustainable management model for mycology based on the conservation and improvement of natural habitats and the mycological resource itself, which applies the results of R+D+I (Research, Development and Innovation), based on innovative infrastructures and equipment for their rational use, and is completed with a work programme aimed at environmental education and awareness as well as the connection and participation of different social agents.

Description of the Area of Activity Description / Technology

By obtaining funding it will be possible to achieve the aim of the project to incorporate a natural resource into a multifunctional and sustainable rural development through two actions:

• Environmental: to ensure the conservation and respect for the environment and mycological resources
• Economic: to incorporate a natural resource, mycology, into the economy in an effective and efficient way, in order to achieve greater profitability, greater added value and of course to create jobs from it. In order to be effective its sustainable management, exploitation, transformation and commercialization, the new technologies and the new systems of management (G.I.S.) are basic.
