The research group formed by members of the USC and the Servizo Galego de Saúde, are holders of the patent 201630620 whose objective is the use of anti-CD26 antibody levels as autoimmune and/or inflammatory biomarkers of diseases.
A kit is presented to detect a new serum biomarker with screening, diagnostic and monitoring potential. Potential in the prognosis and to delineate those who respond to biological therapies (precision medicine) and other inflammatory diseases.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is considered an autoimmune and inflammatory disease. It is the most common form of chronic inflammatory joint disease and affects 1-2% of the general population. There is no perfect biomarker for screening, diagnosis, precision medicine or monitoring of RA.
