HGBeyond

Description

HG Beyond is a scientific materials company that specializes in hydrogel technology, specializing in materials capable of releasing controlled molecules into the environment, with an initial focus on producing next-generation contact lenses that could cure the human eye.

In 2015, the patent for the core technology to produce next-generation hydrogels was granted in the United States, Europe and Japan. That same year, USC incorporated Lentimed, in which Drs. Alvarez-Lorenzo and Concheiro participated indirectly.

This start up will license to the industry, disruptive contact lenses made with manufactured materials and a range of advanced hydrogels.

The project was soon selected to receive support from the prestigious Mind the Gap program of the Marcelino Botin Foundation.

In 2016, Lentimed began using the HGBeyond trademark.
