Description

SPM Nanosolutions is a company dedicated to R&D in biotechnology and nanotechnology, focused on the development of magnetic based nanosystems in two priority research areas: environment and therapeutics.

SPM Nanosolutions integrates two major projects, MAG2Clean in the field of environmental sciences for the treatment of effluents, and, NBiON which focused on health sciences for cancer therapy.

Its lines of research are based on R&D&I activities in biotechnology and nanotechnology focused on the development of magnetic based nanosystems in two of the priority research areas such as health sciences and environmental sciences.

Most important R+D+i projects

The projects currently in need of funding are described below:

NBiON focuses on the development of a magnetic based nanosystem (magnetoliposomes) that allows safer use of anti-tumor drugs in cancer therapy. This novel nanosystem can be magnetically guided to therapeutic sites in the human body, avoiding cytotoxicity and systemic side effects. In addition, it can be applied in cancer treatment through dual therapy, combining synergistic magnetic hyperthermia and specific drug delivery capabilities in a single system, improving treatment from the outset.
MAG2Clean focuses on the treatment of contaminated effluents using magnetic based biocompatible nanosystems. The system is based on three key characteristics: photodegradation in the presence of visible light (disruptive characteristic), user adjustment (adaptability) and magnetic properties (recovery and reuse of the nanosystem), allowing efficient pollutant adsorption and photocatalytic degradation.
