Grupo Nuevos Materiales. UVigo

The “New Materials” research group of the University of Vigo, after more than thirty years of research, is configured as a large, stable and active work team in the field of New Materials and Surface Science and Technology. It is a multidisciplinary group that has been recognized by the Xunta de Galicia as a “Group of Excellence”.

In the last decade, they have dedicated their efforts to lines of research aimed at the development of biomaterials, chiral optical materials and the processing of materials using laser techniques, being applied in various fields such as: medicine, microelectronics, photovoltaics, artistic heritage, etc.

Additionally, the group has a transversal line of work in the Dissemination of Research and Science in order to promote a scientific culture in society.
